Document archive

A document archive for contracts, tax, insurance and letters

MagicPaper is a searchable archive for the papers you must keep, not a generic hard drive. Upload a contract, a tax document, an insurance policy or an official letter. The OCR reads the page, classifies it, and lets you find it by the words on the paper and by the fields it extracted.

What belongs in the archive

The classifier knows invoices, contracts, tax documents, insurance, official letters and receipts. This guide is about the pieces that are not a bill or a till slip: a signed contract, a tax notice, an insurance certificate, a formal letter from an administration. Each one is stored with its type, so a contract does not disappear into a folder named Miscellaneous.

You can still correct the type when the AI is unsure. A certificate or an attestation that does not match a narrower type can stay as an official letter or as other. The original file is kept either way. Quotes and credit notes can live beside invoices if your paperwork is commercial rather than a long-term contract.

Search and reminders

Once the OCR has run, you search the text of the document, not only the file name. A clause, a policy number or the name of an office is enough to surface the page. Extracted fields such as the sender, the date and the amount, when the page has them, give you a second way in.

Contracts and insurance renew. Tax dates do not move because you forgot the PDF. MagicPaper reminders exist so a deadline on a contract or a filing date can notify you before it passes. The reminder is attached to the document you already uploaded. It does not send the document to anyone else.

Encryption and languages

Contracts name people. Tax documents name income. Insurance names health or a home address. MagicPaper encrypts every file with AES-256-GCM in your browser before storage. Only you can decrypt it. Putting a contract in the archive does not make it readable by the people who operate the service.

The OCR reads English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, which covers a contract in one language and a tax letter in another. The interface follows the same five languages. Upload PDF, JPG, PNG or HEIC, including a phone photo of a letter you have not scanned on a flatbed.

Start with three documents

The free plan includes 10 pages per month and 200 MB of storage. Use it to file one contract, one tax PDF and one insurance page and see the classification. Paid plans raise the page allowance and the storage when the drawer is larger than a test.

Invoices have their own guide if you need the VAT and the supplier pulled out on purpose. Receipts, including rent receipts, have a receipt scanner guide. Pricing shows the step up from the free plan, and creating an account does not ask for a card.

Frequently asked questions

Which documents can I archive?

Contracts, tax documents, insurance papers, official letters, invoices and receipts. MagicPaper classifies the page and extracts the sender, date, amount and VAT when those values are on it.

Can I find a sentence inside a contract?

Yes. After OCR, search matches the text of the document, not only the file name. You can also filter by the extracted fields.

Will I be reminded before a contract ends?

You can attach a reminder to the document so a deadline is not only a date printed on page one. The reminder does not share the file.

Who can open an archived document?

Only you. Files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they leave your browser. Sharing with an organization is a separate step.
